Addressing Comprehensive Need for Adolescent Girls and Women through vocational training in 10 villages of Akbarpur Block of Ambedkar Nagar District
The Project focuses on Adolescenct Girls and young married women who are at home, living in 10 targeted villages of Akbarpur block. Through this project young women and Adolescent girls will get support to gain skill to earn their livelihood and support their family and come up in life with better standard of living. The project also focuses on the issues of girl children, being trafficked in the name of offering jobs. Instead of going away from the family the beneficiaries will be able to create work in their own locality when they are trained in skills like sewing, beautician & handicraft. This will help them to be self sustainable.
Project Activities
Six months vocational training on Tailoring / Beautician

Training on Laws and Acts related to women (Domestic
Violence/ RTI/ FIR/ Dowry Act etc.)

Exposure Visit to Police Station/ Post Office/ Banks &
ATMs/ Railway Reservation Counter etc.

Training programme on Leadership quality development

· Group formation & Group Work Activity such as Sports/
Cross-cultural experience/ Adolescent government and
organizations/ Passion projects/ Discussions on various
social issues & health/ Debate etc.

Village level meeting to promote Girl Child Education among
the target community

Meeting on improving the family values among the targeted
community

Training on knowing our body (menstrual system and
hygiene/health)

Training on Immunization/ Health Education / HIV/AIDS/
Nutritional Education and Supplementation/ Anemia control
