In this era, where more and more people run after the glittery world of corporate, we witness a contrasting world with a vision to work for the betterment of the society. Working for the society can be done through different ways, but the purpose always remains the same – impacting lives of people directly or indirectly.

Social work has its impact on various areas of development of a country. Do you know it is considered as one of the most valuable sources of evaluating a country’s progress? So much so that countries like Bhutan have started measuring the growth of their country not on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but the Happiness Index termed as ‘Gross National Happiness’.

With this view, as our thrust, we the Staff of DDWS have ventured into the society to dream and actualize the vision of capacitating an initiating power. This power has to come from the human person and the fact of sustainability for food, shelter and dignity could be achieved.

Today the prime focus of DDWS is to make persons feel dignified. The dignity of human person is at stake and we witness in our day-to-day life in our homes, in our surroundings, in society and the nation at large. Carelessness, creeping in that, HUMAN BEINGS are THINGS and they can be dealt in any manner.

I, as the Director of DDWS, am fully convinced that Moral and Social Dignity of human beings is to be brought back and sustained. Lets us all join hands in a new venture not only to bring smiles on the faces who are sick, sorrowful and suffering but also to move a step ahead by restoring human dignity for all.

We, together with you, hope to walk together an extra mile in bringing back for human beings, what they have lost because of Dirty Politics, Corruption, Social Stigmas, Unemployment, Poverty and Slavery of all kinds. Let us join hands in this mission to bring Consolation to the disheartened, Joy to the suffering and Peace to those in trouble.
