Integrated Development Programme (IDP) is implemented under the aegis of Manos Unidas in twenty villages of Jaffarganj block of Ambedkar Nagar District, Uttar Pradesh for the rural development.
It was apprehended that a sustainable strategy of poverty alleviation has to be based on increasing the productive employment opportunities in the process of growth itself so that they can attain a better livelihood options.
Through IDP project elimination of poverty, ignorance, diseases and inequality of opportunities, gender discrimination and providing better livelihood opportunities were the basic grounds. Majority of the people are living under precarious situation. Thus through various activities and program conducted for the community such as Health awareness program, information on MNREGA , Women Rights, Panchyati Raj, celebration of importance days, training on Reproductive child health , income generation programs , formation of Self Help Groups, Sensitization meetings on various issues and through developed linkages with NGO’s have put great impetus in sensitizing the community. Established NFE centres for school going children have also provided quality education to children.
The aim of the project is to provide the rural people with better prospects for economic development, increased participation of people in the rural development programmes, decentralization of planning and greater access to credit facility.
